On August 23, KM celebrated its first convocation ceremony since the pandemic in style with all Foundation Certificate and Diploma in Higher Education graduates from 2019-2023 joining in to receive their well-deserved certificates, catch up with old friends and in general, celebrate.

On this occasion, the management announced the inaugural award of the ‘EKWE x Maia Dave Scholarship for Creative Women in Music Technology’. Supported by US-based mobile music app EKWE and award-winning creative innovator Manon Dave, and created on behalf of Manon and Trusha Dave in tribute to their daughter Maia, the scholarship is intended for final-year female students at KM Music Conservatory with a flair for music technology and production.

The scholarship will amount to the full cost of tuition fees for the year. The selected candidate would receive professional mentoring and support from both the EKWE team and Manon Dave throughout their scholarship period. They would also be expected to become an ambassador for EKWE activities within KM and the wider field in India. This year the proud recipient of the award is vocalist Diploma 2 student, Aaina Padiath.

Vocalist Sarah Shipchandler from the outgoing batch of 2023 performed with her band, while pianist Aarohan Phatela, also from the outgoing batch of 2023, played a solo piece for the audience.
